    Patient Information

    Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Annapolis Dental Center Website. This site gives you the important information that will help you become familiar with our practice. We have included answers to most of the frequently asked questions. We encourage you to contact us anytime by phone (410) 571-5014 or email at info@annapolisdentalcenter.com and we look forward to providing you with best quality dental care that you deserve.

Here at Annapolis Dental center, we always strive to deliver the best diagnosis and treatment that dentistry today has to offer. We believe that our goals can be achieve through a continuous and open dialogue between you and our staff and you can expect to be treat with respect at all times. We look forward to working with you to achieve this goal.

First Time Visit to Annapolis Dental Center

Your initial visit will consist of a review of your medical and dental history, an intraoral examination and dental radiographs or x-rays. This will give us a comprehensive view of your oral condition after which we will discuss the findings and explain your diagnosis and treatment options. Sometimes, treatment can be performed the same day as the consultation or exams. However, when a patient presents with a more complex medical history or treatment plan, we may require an additional evaluation or a second appointment to complete the treatment plan and start treatment.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

    • Any recent radiographs that you may already have
    • A list of your current medications and medical history
    • Any dental or cosmetic concerns you may have.

We require that a parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the examination and consultation visit.

Please let us know if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to your appointment (i.e. recent surgery, diabetes, high blood pressure or hypertension, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, daily aspirin or anticoagulant therapy, bisphosphonate meds, etc.)

    Radiographs (X-Rays)

If your physician or dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional radiographs are necessary, they can be taken at our office.

    Infection Control

Infection controls and universal precautions protect patients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, your dentist, and the dental team. The cornerstone in a good and safe dental practice is the element of trust. You should feel free to discuss this topic with the Dr. Dele & staff and receive a straightforward answer.

Dr. Dele and our entire team follow procedures recommended by several federal agencies: the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include:

    • Disinfectant hand soap
    • Gloves and face masks
    • Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
    • Sterilization of all instruments before every use
    • Disposable materials

We sterilize all non-disposable instruments, including dental hand pieces. We use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure.

The best defense against disease is information. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make wise decisions about your health care. The more you know about our daily procedures and policies, the more comfortable you will feel.
